New York City, early night, and no 'super heroics'. This was the life Tommy could lead every night, if he wasn't so focused on helping people... Still, when he could go out, and spend an evening without getting shot at or pissing the AGN off, well... It was a good night, to say the least.
Luckily for him, this night was one of those rare occasions. Wandering the streets somewhat carelessly, he was dressed in one of his finest suits walking unperturbed through the ritzy are his family hailed from. Of course, if anyone found the ties between Tommy and Soundbyte... He'd never see this part of town again, instead, he'd likely spend the rest of his life in Gehenna... A planet that, supposedly, lived up to it's origin as a form of Hell...
Of course, as long as there was noise around, Tommy'd never truly be able to be contained, so he never worried too much... Besides, tonight was all about having a good time, and hanging back. Hell, maybe he'd run into a fan of his vocals, pose for a picture or two... Nothing at all he'd really need to worry about...

A jump, a roll, and Miles was on yet another roof. He was running again, just looking around and absorbing the atmosphere that the bright city gave. He hadn't been here in a while, and for a moment he could not recall why. It was the crime, but Miles liked the lights. The only bad thing was not being able to see the stars. The stars were the true lights of the night, and Miles loved seeing them. Clear nights were his favorite, but for some reason he never really could see many stars in New York. They were all airplanes or helicopters. It was nice to think that maybe, somewhere in this huge city, someone was seeing stars.
And if Miles didn't act fast, he would be seeing stars, too. His head swung downward and in a moment he was falling. He shot out his hand to reach a nearby fire escape and used the momentum to swing himself up onto it. That was something that nobody, nobody could do without some sort of special power. Could he see anyone? Thankfully, on this night, the streets weren't particularly crowded. Except for one person. Quickly removing himself from the fire escape and repositioning himself somewhat near the guy, Miles offered a sheepish smile.
"Uh, don't mind me. I'm okay. Got really... Lucky." Wow, he mused to himself, he couldn't lie for his life. At least, tonight he couldn't. Usually he was pretty good. What was it? Miles couldn't help but feel that he knew the guy from somewhere...
Oh man, oh man, oh man.
"Wait, are you..?" Miles started, unable to finish as he recognized one of his favorite people on the planet. This dude was one of his favorite singers, and Miles had just about everything he did on his mp3 player. This was unreal. He checked the time once on his mp3 player, then twice. The time was the same, he wasn't dreaming. He was really here, standing before one of his favorite vocalists. Thank god this guy didn't sell out. Miles appreciated underground and indie musicians much more than the big names. The big names could release anything and receive praise. The indie and underground folks had to try their hardest to make something of that quality. Sometimes they succeeded, sometimes they didn't. This guy succeeded much more often than not. But there was always that one album that Miles didn't like...
Best not to bring it up. Best to just stand here and, hopefully, let this guy carry the conversation.
(The grammar seems to be atrocious in some parts, sorry, I don't know why xP)

As he walked, Tommy noticed a man on the rooftops, moving through them. He didn't seem to be running from anything in particular, just enjoying the freedom, a notion he had nothing but respect for. To be able to just run around without hiding who he was... Tommy'd considered it, his career as a vocalist was done more just because he enjoyed music, and less for the money. Honestly, the only thing keeping him from abandoning the dual identity of Soundbyte that he'd forced himself into was his family... As soon as they found out he was using powers on a regular basis, as a vigilante... Well, they'd ship him off to Gehenna faster than if the AGN caught him... Though, in someways, that was what he got for acting against a family so loyal to the AGN...
While he thought, he continued watching the man, as he suddenly began plummeting through the air. If his casual running over the roofs hadn't given away some kind of power, the fact that he miraculously saved himself mid-fall kind of gave it away. Shortly after, the guy landed, and tried explaining that he'd just gotten lucky. Even though his gut told him otherwise, Tommy wasn't too concerned over it, after all, it wasn't like he had any right to accuse the kid of having powers. Whether or not her did, Tommy couldn't cast any stones about using powers without permission, and he wasn't exactly the type to give others meaningless rants about use of powers, anyways.
Then something somewhat surprising happened. Normally when he walked around town, people didn't really recognize him, mostly because he so rarely went out in the public eye, and wasn't 'big' enough to warrant paparazzi attention. Still, it was nice to know he still had a few fans on Earth... Hell, he might even have some elsewhere... When Soundbyte made his trip to Cluster 7C, Tommy might just have to make an appearance in the public eye to promote the newest single he'd been roped into doing guest vocals on. Never hurt to have a reason to be out of place, after all...
"Ha, you recognize me, man? Nice to meet a fan! Name's Tommy, Tommy MacGrady, though you probably already knew that... And you are?" As he spoke, Tommy extended his right hand to offer his fan a firm handshake. It served two purposes, it was a friendly gesture, and it'd give him a chance to give the guy a quick glance over. He may be a fan, but, it didn't necessarily mean he wasn't up to no good... The last thing he needed, as Tommy MacGrady or Soundbyte, was to leave some thief running around New York City's neighborhoods, after all...

"Oh man," Miles stammered before walking forward and accepting the handshake a bit hastily. This dude was, in fact, Tommy MacGrady. One of the best singers on this planet (disputably, since music is subjective, but that's beside the point). And Miles was meeting with him. This was every indie kid's dream. Despite Miles not really being a kid anymore, he would roll with it. It wasn't every day he got to meet someone who would probably be in an encyclopedia. Probably. He would have to check that out later. Or not, since he disliked encyclopedias.
"I'm Miles." He was probably grinning like an idiot, but that didn't matter much to Miles. A few seconds ago, Miles was about to bolt since he was pretty sure Tommy might have seen, or at least inferred that he had powers, but then again this was Tommy MacGrady. Miles couldn't just run away. That would be near-blasphemous in some social circles!
He thought of anything he could say next to try to get the attention away from his little display of acrobatics. He couldn't use the weather because that would be just dumb. Starting a conversation about Tommy himself might seem a bit fanboyish. So... What was left? About nothing to the mindblanking Miles. So, he left it at his name and hoped that Tommy wouldn't just walk away. As far as Miles knew, Tommy could be planning to report him to the cops right now. Maybe he shouldn't have told him his real name...

After shaking his hand, Tommy quickly decided this Miles fellow was friendly enough. He seemed genuinely excited to meet him, though that wasn't exactly a fair trait to judge him over. No, what had sold the man's innocence to Tommy was the simple fact that, despite his apparent powers, he didn't seem too threatening at all. While he could easily handle his own in any fight, from what Tommy had seen, the guy actually seemed more concerned with just enjoying life... A trait that didn't seem so common in the average street thug.
With that settled, Tommy decided to have a nice conversation with the kid, maybe figure out what his motives in everything were. If nothing else, it was a chance for Tommy to meet someone new, without having to cover himself in his battle suit... Sure, it was good at what it was supposed to do, but... That didn't exactly make it the best thing to wear all the time... Not because it was uncomfortable or anything, it was just nice to actually feel the breeze sometime.
"I've gotta say, Miles, it's nice to meet a fan who knows who I am before I'm introduced... I spend so much time doing guest tracks for other artists, and have so few of my own albums, most folks don't recognize me on face. What brings you out to a place like this? Just enjoying the freedom of the city, without being bothered by thoughts or worries?" While he couldn't say for sure that was what Miles had been doing, if it was, it was something Tommy could actually find himself jealous of. As much as he could do as himself, if he really wanted to experience that kind of freedom... Well, he'd have to suit up and run around as Soundbyte, hoping no one shot at him that night...

He laughed a bit. Out of nervousness? Miles didn't know, but it just came naturally to him. Like... Eh, he couldn't think of any sort of comparisons right now. He was a bit busy freaking out inside over meeting one of his idols. After this, Miles was going to have one hell of a run to get the jitters out. Probably do a whole bunch of acrobatic, flippy crap, too. His mood would probably be unbelievably positive after that. Even now it was pretty great. After all, it wasn't every day that he got to meet someone technically famous.
"Yeah, in a way," Miles started, dumb grin still plastered on his face, "I'm a free runner. I usually just strap on an arm band and listen to music while running and jumping over stuff, but today I just wanted to hear the city, I guess." It wasn't like a lot of the music he listened to was particularly... Pop-ish. He listened to a lot of more ambient and post-rock stuff... Generally instrumental and mellow, contrasting with the constant rush of free-running but at the same time connecting directly with the flow. Verse-chorus-verse, for Miles, got distracting after a while. Especially ear worms, those songs that once you hear you cannot get them out of your head until you listen to them another fifty times. Those he saved for home, when he was aimlessly browsing the internet and playing solitaire. Oh, solitaire... How Miles loved it.
Still, Tommy was being too humble. His limited albums gave Miles a sense of suspense- was he ever going to release another one? Was he going to do more guest vocals, maybe momentarily joining another band to release a split-EP or something? Anything? Miles had his ideas. Maybe he could do some vocals over Buckethead albums. That could go either way, though, it could either bring a whole new layer of depth to them or it could ruin the songs. Somehow, Miles doubted Tommy could ruin any music. Maybe that was the inner fanboy speaking. He mentally told it to get back in his psyche, preferably locked up in a dark, cluttered basement or something. Forever.
"What're you doing out here?" Miles asked good-naturedly, hoping that Tommy wouldn't take particular offense to his questioning. It wasn't like he had powers or anything, those people were generally reclusive, right? Miles didn't know much about them. Maybe they were all at Gehenna. That would suck, Miles being the last one on the planet. Then again, that would lower suspicion quite a bit...

Had she done something wrong? She didn’t understand why she was being shot at by this irritable Human. She had only stopped to look at the man, who had stopped to ask her something – she didn’t understand it of course, but she couldn’t ignore him. His dog had growled at her, and while she was not prepared it somehow was able to tear off her coat, thus revealing her true identity. The Human was in a black and blue uniform, and had a golden metal badge on his chest and he did not look very happy to see her…and her tail. His dog growled and barked at her, making her take a few steps back – animals did not like her for some reason. The Human spews out words that she doesn’t understand. She didn’t feel the need to fight this man, but she knew that she had to protect herself. Instinct told the Lo’ki to run to a spot more fitting for a fight, and so that was just what she did.
The loud bangs from the gun made her jump in her skin each time it went off. She hated guns, they were the weapon of cowards! The Lo’ki hissed and swiftly turned the corner, she could outrun the man – but his dog was another story. People dived out of her way. She couldn’t tell whether or not it was because of her, or because of the screams coming from the Human shooting at her. The Lo’ki could fly, but there was no room to take off here. The dog snarled from behind her and lunged at her. She ducked into an alley, just barely dodging the four legged creature’s fangs as she began to dodge trash cans. The alien saw a dead end coming up, now she had no choice. The Lo’ki jumped up into the air, tucking her legs into her stomach before letting her wings come out of her arms. The dog skidded to a stop as she flew off; the Human took another shot at her and despite the new, lancing pain in her hip, she continued to fly off.
The Lo’ki managed to get a few blocks away thanks to the wind and she shakily landed in an alley. Before her feet could touch the ground though, her wings gave and she fell onto a pile of garbage cans, causing the top of one to roll out onto the pavement and noisily roll onto its flat side. The Lo’ki lets out a soft mewl of pain as she shakily comes to her feet and shakes her head to reorient herself. The bullet in her hip throbbed, she looked down at it, thought for a moment. There wasn’t anything else she could do, so she messily reached into the wound and pulled out the bullet. The Lo’ki let out a loud screech of pain afterwards, but the pain quickly lessened after a few moments.
The alien girl stepped out of the alleyway, looking around for someone and she quickly found someone – two in fact. Curiously, with a look of naïve innocence, she looked at them; her body crouched as if ready to decide between her only two options: fight or flight. She let out a soft, bird-like croon as she looked at them with a confused expression. Were they going to attack her as well? Maybe this time she should show her dominance…

What was he doing out? Normally, questions weren't so difficult, but... Tommy hadn't really had any plans for the evening, he'd just been out walking, listening to the world around him. Each new sound, something to be enjoyed... Every noise a musical note, in it's own way... But, to explain that he was listening to the ambient noise of the city, in a relatively secluded, empty area of town... Well, that'd be something of a bit foolish on his part, whether the guy was comfortable with his own abilities or not, no one really bragged about their powers publicly... Unless they wanted to end up in Gehenna, or being called a terrorist on the news, like that blond he'd seen a report on a while back...
Still, he'd been asked a question, and it'd be rude to give nothing in return. "Me? I'm just taking a stroll myself, enjoying the peace of the city. There's also the fact that some of my family lives around here... I'd considered stopping in to-..."
In the middle of his sentence, a gunshot a few miles away caught Tommy's attention... There'd been no sound of sirens, so it could be a civilian or gang related shooting... Listening closer to the sound, Tommy let himself forget where he was as he heard what sounded like a chase through the city, almost like two animals chasing one another... Than just barking from a dog, as though it's prey had gotten away...
Then came a screech from far closer, a sound of pain. Sure that Miles had heard it to, Tommy quickly tried to fumble a way into hiding that he'd known it was coming long before it was so close... "You hear that screech? Sounded close by... What do you suppose it-"
Again before he could finish his sentence, something drew his attention as a distinctly non-human being emerged from the alley... He'd heard of creatures like this, who were bought and sold almost as slaves. Sometimes, they were even used in seeming 'freakshows' for people with no sense of humanity to laugh and point at... Whatever had happened to this one, it seemed to be bleeding, and was probably the recipient of the gunshots he'd heard. It seemed a bit out of place, and Tommy hoped it'd be willing to at least let him see how hurt it was, without him having to rely on his hypnotic singing... As long as Miles was around, he had to try and hide his powers, as best he could...
"So... It looks hurt... You think it'd be willing to let us get it to a hospital? Or do we take it to a vet? I'm not really sure on the protocol for these things, Miles, but... We need to do something for it, right?"

Miles looked perplexed for a moment. He didn't really hear it much himself, much like some sort of distant bang. Something you got accustomed to hearing in New York. There was so much gang violence, and it was everywhere... It wasn't much of a shock to Miles anymore. Just as long as he wasn't on the receiving end, Miles wasn't particularly worried. Sure, it could break out into a nationwide thing, but it hadn't yet. And if it hadn't yet, then it wasn't likely that it ever would.
"Uh... Tommy...?" Miles asked, seeing Tommy go... Blank. It was one of the oddest things Miles had witnessed. Almost like his mind stopped working. Jumping at a loud screech that sounded just a bit too close for comfort, Tommy hid. Miles did the same, though he doubted his hiding place was that good. Tommy's was decent, though. Passable. If they were both going to get shot, Miles was almost sure he'd be first...
"Yeah, yeah..." Miles said, a bit frightened at this point. Whatever it was, it didn't sound human. When Tommy looked, Miles did too, and saw something. Bleeding. Whatever that something was, Miles hadn't a clue, it was hurt. It also didn't seem hostile, at least immediately, which prompted Miles to think that whatever it was, it just wanted help. The poor thing. Miles nodded at Tommy (his only response) and, in an act somewhat unlike Miles, he began to walk towards it, taking off his hoodie as he did so revealing a rather tight undershirt. He had many hoodies, he figured he could spare one. Miles figured he could bandage the wound with it and then... They'd figure out something from there. Though, this thing could attack him at any moment... Miles didn't really have to worry, but Tommy would see that Miles had powers. That would be... Problematic. It was a chance Miles was willing to take. Nothing deserved to be shot at, especially something that appeared to be fleeing.
He took a few cautious steps toward it and lowered his arms, lightly clasping the hoodie in his left hand. He was scared half to death, but he was just trying to help. He kept reassuring himself that he would know of an attack if it came, and that was the only thing keeping him from bolting then and there.
"Hey there," he began, trying to sound soothing, "I'm just going to try to help you, okay? You're hurt." Realizing that his attempts may be futile, he briefly turned his head to look at Tommy.
"What if it doesn't understand English?" Biting his lip a bit, he turned back to the... Creature. It was crouched. Ready to attack at any second. I'll know if it attacks. I'll know if it attacks. He took one more tentative step. He was being as cautious as possible. This was probably the weirdest day he had been through in a while. Looking back, it started normally enough. A quick jog through the city, returning home, going on the computer for a bit, running to a friend's, relaxing there, then coming back and... This. Meeting one of his idols and some kind of hurt alien thing.
One more step, and Miles decided it would be best to ask it directly. Even if it didn't understand English. Dogs heard emotions in a way, right? He recalled his friend telling his dog terrible jokes, and the dog was just as happy as it always was because of his tone. While Miles didn't take a baby-talk kind of tone, he made sure that he sounded soothing and non-threatening, almost like a narrator in a movie.
"If you let me tie this around you, then the bleeding will stop and it'll heal a lot easier. Are you okay with that?" he asked, trying to put on a little grin just to ease the mood as much as possible.
If it attacks, I'll know.

The Humans were hiding from her, but their lingering scents were their downfall. She tilted her head curiously at them, wondering if they wanted her gone. Humans were so into themselves it would seem, and selfish at that. Her eyes dilated as she focused on them, she tilted her body as she looked them over. No matter how selfish or conceited Humans may seem, they were still so weird looking – but smart too, even a being as prideful as a Lo’ki could admit that….not that she would say anything of course. Her hip throbbed harder, causing her to whine uncomfortably and shift her weight back onto both legs. She heard a few barks and yells from behind her, with the help of her above average hearing. The Lo’ki looked behind her, winced, and then looked back at the Humans with her facial expression weary and cautious.
She watched one stand, and come toward her – slowly and warily. The Lo’ki did not dare to move, and just stared the human down, ready to pounce. When the Human spoke, his tone mostly gentle, the alien visibly calmed and straightened up, coming close to her full height. She did not growl or make anymore noises and looked back at the Human’s friend who was still in hiding. What were they doing…? This was one of those times that she wished she could speak their language, so she didn’t feel so confused all the time. She looked at the piece of fabric in his hand and suddenly old memories made this all make sense.
When she was younger and still in training there was a hunting accident – a young hunter had been injured. So her mother, a healer, bandaged him up and gave him some of the clan’s medicine. Even though she was a child, she had been allowed by her mother to help with the young hunter’s recovery and could remember how her Mother had bandaged him. The Lo’ki straightened up completely and the sudden realization glimmered in her eye before she suddenly lunged forward swiftly and tried to snatch the piece of fabric in the Human’s hand. If she managed to succeed, the Lo’ki would disappear into the alleyway again in order to bandage herself, cutting the hoodie into strips with her claws before tightly winding them around her hips, covering the small wound.
Perhaps Humans weren’t so selfish, this had been the first time a Human had showed her some kindness – and she certainly hadn’t expected them too.

Watching from his perch, Tommy wasn't afraid of the creature as much as he was playing lookout. If the police began coming out, he'd need to act as Soundbyte, but... He didn't exactly want to just appear in the suit in front of Miles... Better to have the guy think the vocalist he likes was a pansy, than to have it get out that he and Soundbyte were one and the same... Still, he wanted to try and make sure the creature didn't hurt itself more than it had already been harmed... He didn't know much about it, or what species it was, for that matter... Regardless, however, he couldn't stand to see something suffering without a reason for it's suffering... Had they found it over a dead body, or had any reason to suspect something like that being the case, the odds were that Tommy would have been far less friendly over it. However, he hadn't heard anything about a body, not even after it escaped.
Focusing, Tommy sought out any voice speaking about the creature, to get some idea of what it'd done. What he heard was an officer talking into his radio about a wild animal that had appeared before him in a 'threatening' manner... Thinking back on what he'd heard during the initial chase, he got the distinct feeling that the 'good' officer's initial response upon seeing the likely lost and lonely creature was to shoot first, and then keep shooting later... Poor bastard was probably the same kind of officer who went out of his way to take the good vigilante's out of the way as often as he did the criminals...
Despite hearing the dogs, Tommy had a quick idea. From his hiding place, he pinpointed the source of noise the dogs were making. They were close, but not close enough to be putting them in danger... Not yet, anyways. Pulling further into his retreat, Tommy released a powerful scream, sending it through the air directly into the dogs sensitive ears, driving them away, while using his powers to ensure no other being was capable of hearing it... While he didn't normally like using that power on animals, he knew that in this instance, it wouldn't cause lasting damage, and that it would drive them away from where they were. If nothing else, it gave Tommy, Miles, and the creature some time to get things taken care of.
Walking from where he was, Tommy moved towards the two, approaching confidently, though doing his best to show he had no ill intentions. "Miles... Try and make sure she doesn't run off on her own, no telling what kind of trouble the 'good officers' of this city will put her through... Looks like she's already grabbing for your jacket there... Be careful not to let it go. You'll need to bandage her yourself... I'm not much for medical expertise, as you might guess, so I won't be able to do much, save to try and keep her from running away in fear."
Turning to the alien creature, Tommy continued talking to her, trying to soothe her with his words. "You listen here, dear... You don't wanna go running off into the alleys or nothing... You want us around, cause we'll keep them cops off your case... Maybe find you a nice place to stay, at least for the night. I know you probably don't understand me... But, here's hoping that keeping a calm, level head will keep you from trying to kill us... This guy here, he's gonna tie that jacket around that hole in your leg, it'll be better for you in the long run, trust me... Once he's done, you're gonna have to come with us quick... I get the feeling they're still looking for you, and that isn't something any of us really want to deal with..."

Miles gasped just a bit and let go of the jacket, though not flinching. He gave a grin as the creature retreated to bandage itself. He let the creature take his hoodie without any sort of resistance. He took a few steps forward and knelt down, staring into the shadows where he believed the creature to be.
"We're not here to hurt you, we're friends," he said, hoping to gain its trust. Who knows- Miles and Tommy could have some sort of a... Dare he say it... Adventure on their hands, if this creature was of importance. Regardless, it was a living being. Something that should be treated with respect. A gunshot wasn't exactly respectful, so they needed to hide it at the very least. Miles didn't exactly have a place, maybe his friends would be willing. Probably. Actually, he somehow doubted it. Having to house Miles and a 'friend' might just be a bit too much. He couldn't ask that much of them.
He had the same idea as Tommy- something pretty cool considering who Tommy was in Miles' eyes. Keeping his grin, he approached ever so slowly. Maybe the creature had it safely in hand? He could barely make it out, but it looked like it was taking care of things itself.
"Where can we bring it?" asked Miles to Tommy, only turning briefly to direct his question towards Tommy. That would certainly be a problem. Miles didn't have a place. He assumed Tommy had a place, but would he really want the creature potentially wrecking things? Miles didn't know, he just hoped that Tommy's idea wasn't to go to Miles' residence. Miles' nonexistent residence. He turned back to the creature and grinned once more, still trying to calm it down. It was probably terrified at what had happened. Miles didn't blame it, guns were pretty scary. Being the only thing Miles couldn't dodge for sure, he was a bit frightened of them, too. Maybe he and the creature had more in common than most would think.
"We're friends," he repeated, hoping the creature would get the message, "Just here to help. Friends." Making sure to extend the word 'friends' in hopes that maybe the creature would get the message, he nodded a bit to try to give it a sense of reassurance and, in something he saw only in movies, held out his hand. In every single movie that he had seen, when something took your hand it trusted you. This was stupid, dangerous, crazy. But it might work. It didn't feel good taking all of these chances but he felt as if he had to. A sense of moral obligation, almost. Obligation to help the living creatures on this planet, be it from here or elsewhere.
And, truth be told, Miles thought today to be just too amazing.

Just as she finished bandaging herself up, she heard a startling sound that made her jump in her skin. She spun around, only to see the first human kneeling in front of the alley and the other one across the street, in another alley. The Lo’ki blinked carefully and kept her eyes on him, watching him calmly coming back. Neither of them showed any hostility, making her feel more at ease – she wouldn’t have to hurt them, she didn’t want to, especially after they had helped her. The Lo’ki licked her right canine thoughtfully as she looked at them as they spoke with each other in the same unknown language that all Humans spoke in. What would they do now? She looked down at what was left of the first Human’s hoodie, it was in shreds now thanks to her claws. Did he want it back still?
She taps her index and thumb claws together and stands up straight before putting away her claws, knowing that if she walked out with them visible that it would send out the wrong message. The Lo’ki bent down to pick up the hoodie and slowly came out from the shadows, her eyes trained on the blonde human’s hand. She crouches again, her upper body unmoving as her legs bend closer together. The Lo’ki looked into the blonde human’s eyes for a moment, trying to read them before gently taking the hand, cupping his five-fingered hand with her four-fingered one. The Lo’ki carefully laid what was left of the hoodie on the blonde human’s shoulder, letting out a curious, bird-like noise from her throat.
After a few moments of looking at the blonde one she defiantly comes to her feet, only taking back her hand if the blond one took back his hand, and mimics the screech that the brunette let out, it wasn’t nearly as loud or as potent so it wouldn’t alert the dogs who were undoubtedly in some serious pain. She grinned like a child who thought that they had done a funny thing that would definitely gain their parent’s attention. The Lo’ki didn’t know that what she had just done might send a lance of trepidation through the gut of the brunette. Playfully, she taps the brunette’s shoulder before jumping backwards, her grin widening. She had forgotten the pain in her hip at the moment, and had decided to start some twisted game of tag with the Humans who had might have been the first ones to act kindly toward her.
The Lo’ki looked at the blonde and then back at the brunette, as she jumped from leg to leg, always bending more when she was on the leg on the side that had the injured him. She looked to both of them, waiting for them to realize her game, her confusion growing with each moment that they didn’t until she stopped jumping and just stared at them perplexed.

When Miles gave the creature his hoodie, and allowed it to run into the alley, Tommy was almost wholly convinced that'd be the end of it all... That the creature would run off, and not be seen again... Surprisingly, Miles managed to coax her out of the alley, drawing her to where they were. More surprisingly, was her playful nature. When she made a sound that sounded similar to his own screech, he found himself a little surprised she'd been able to hear it... Apparently, her hearing, like his own, was more powerful than the average human's, though... He had no idea how powerful her hearing was... He'd have to be careful if he needed to scream again, to avoid harming her ears...
When she started acting in a way that seemed to be meant to draw their attention to follow her, Tommy watched her every movement, though without moving. While he didn't want her to begin feeling uncomfortable, he was trying to think on how best to handle things... Miles seemed like a good guy, and he'd definitely hit it off with the creature... But, he knew he couldn't just ask Miles to take the alien on his own... First, it'd seem cold of him to just shrug them both off... But, more than that, he couldn't bring himself to burden someone with an animal they knew nothing about... As intelligent as she seemed, she likely wasn't entirely used to being in human homes, and he didn't want to ruin someone else's home...
Besides, over the years he'd installed plenty of security into his own home, to keep prying eyes from witnessing Soundbyte coming and going from his windows all the time... He could offer them both a place to rest while they decided the best course of action with the creature... After all, the combat suit was part of him, so it wouldn't be found lying around... And it wasn't like there were signs of his alternate identity everywhere... Plus, if Miles did find out about Tommy and Soundbyte... Well, the guy seemed to have his own powers as it was, and was a fan... He could probably be trusted...
Noticing that she'd stopped jumping, and seemed to be waiting for something, Tommy finally spoke up. "We could take her to my place, you two could rest there for the night, while we decide what to do about it all, if you don't have any better ideas?" Turning back to the creature, Tommy began talking to it. "How's that sound? Warm bed for the night, maybe watch a movie or something, just spend an evening relaxing? Hell... I could probably find something to cook, maybe a steak or some burgers or something? You think she'd like that, Miles? What do you suppose she eats?"

It did it. The creature literally just put its hand in Miles'. Miles' eyes lit up at this, this was probably the coolest moment of his life. He hadn't even heard of things like the thing before him, and he had already managed to befriend one! Plus, it seemed intelligent, so... Hey, why not? It wasn't like anyone was about to stop him. Crowning achievement of the decade? A sure candidate. And then it gave him the rest of the hoodie back. Now he could say that this really happened, and he had proof! That'll show his friends that tell him he does nothing.
"Thank you," he said kindly , examining what was left briefly. Not much. Totally worth it. He figured he should still be polite, after all this thing seemed kind. Miles jumped a bit and let out a stifled gasp as the thing let out a scream. After, however, Miles began to laugh a bit in spite of himself. He felt like an idiot- but an idiot among friends. Miles turned to Tommy.
"It can get pretty loud, can't it?" Miles was completely and utterly clueless. It then tagged Tommy, who simply stood there, eyeing it. Hopefully the creature didn't get any wrong impressions. After all the progress Miles had made with it, he would not not NOT want to have it end just like that. Eventually, though, the creature stopped jumping and just looked at them. Still, apparently, Tommy had noticed something Miles hadn't. Maybe it was her voice, but the creature was female. Somewhat human, maybe? At least developed. Probably not human, actually, the possibility of some sort of hybrid human was... Crazy. Something you'd only find in sci-fi flicks or something.
"I think she wanted to play tag," Miles said with a bit of a laugh. His attention, however, quickly went to Tommy's game plan. He was going to enter Tommy MacGrady's house as a guest and stay the night. And all he had to say...
"Yes! Yeah, I mean, that would, uh... Cool," he said, obviously grinning. He turned to the fascinating, apparently female creature. "I'd take him up on his offer if I were you," turning his attention back to Tommy, "Sounds fine to me, I don't really have a place of my own. I kinda travel around. I think she'd like it though. She's curious. We can probably find something that she'd like. She might have a bit of trouble adjusting, but I think she's smarter than you may think." With a grin, he turned to the creature and raised an eyebrow.
"Riiight?" he asked, hoping to provoke a response. He then took on a more thoughtful look.
"What can we call you?" he asked to the creature, as if expecting some sort of response. He turned to Tommy. "Ideas?"
